Dressed straight out of the classic 50's, and fresh out of jail. Some eager, others knowing they'll be back soon.

One holds the Wall Street Journal...purple collar underneath a crimson wool sweater, muted green trousers, and a generic pair of white Reebok sneakers. He hasn't been to college in over 17 years. He's determine to go back, become a doctor, or mayb a lawyer. Apparently he can do it all: Yale in 8 years. He'll be the oldest on campus. His hunger for knowledge adds a hop in his step, like an anxious toddler with the need to urinate. Nervess overwhelm him, but they were worse when he was homeless just months before. By standing he's already knocked the demons of death behind him. Will he actually pursue a triple degree? Is he just verbally motivated? Only he'll and those around him will know. I've only go two hours with him, but he's already decided to rest his nerves. Two more connections ahead of him, what else will he do?? On hand in case of the jitters: National Geographic and the Wall Street Journal. Good luck man.

Number 2

His hands are idle, popping the top of his coffee cop continuously. They moved, bored. Now to the headphone volume, working together to dance with the cable. His eyes lok down while he decides to take another sip. Fingers linger and suffocate the coffee top. Everythings stationary, but his head tilts. Maybe he's thinking about the sweet lingering after taste. His eyes travel everywhere, mainly out the window. Outside passes quickly while his body remains stuck in his seat. It doesnt matter. He's antsy, uncomfortable no matter what he decides to do. Definately a first time traveler. It's stamped on his face.

I remember my first trip. Music, check. Laptop, check. I've never heard songs play so slowly. I've never seen so many trucks, trees, or farms. The roads were endless, melted into a three hour lane. The seat was deathy stiff and my head pounded and pounded as my ipod battery died. What a shame.

Number 3

THe pretty college freshman speaks to the man with long dreads. She's skiing in hours but the man hasnt seen snow in years. The conversation continues as both are curious about the other's life. Naive, she thinks he's friendly. In reality he hasn't seen anything young and remotely good looking in almost ten years. This afternoon marks freedom from a long jail sentence, for what sounded like armed robbery. It changed his life at 19. Men just out of prison are stunned by those who take things for granted. THey speak to college students to judge. They want to learn as much as possible, start over, and not waste any time to make a great second life. But on the bus they meet up with their initial rebirth obstacles. Adjusting to a faster techie world. Ipods didnt exist in 97 and neither did DVDs. Imagine jumping on a bus, seeing a slim laptop with fairly long battery life, an ipod blasting, and a movie on screen. You'd be floored in awe of how spoiled the world has become. You'd think where's the appreciation for the little things like traveling a couple hours to freedom and family.
